I think the whole issue about how they're acquired is highly complex. It will obviously depend on which view you take as to where the path and the sculpture should ultimately reside, whose side of the story you believe. The British Museum without doubt has cared for them for a great time. I wouldn't say that they have cared for them immaculately. They were scrubbed, cleaned and damaged quite severely in the process. And it would be interesting to see if they were ever fully properly tested in a court of law, whether that ownership could really be established by the British Museum.
