The Force Associated With Color Charge
Quarks never exist outside of things like protons and neutrons. So far as we know, they are permanently confined inside proton quarks. The forces associated with gluons are such that the further you pull it out, the stronger the force will be. That's kind of the reason why there aren't any free corks because if you try and pull the cork out, it will pulling at a certain distance.
