The Supernova Collision

Super luminous supernovas are so rare, we just haven't seen one yet. There's still a bunch of different theories about what could be causing them. It is actually really cool to track these explosions. You feel like it's going to affect the whole galaxy. These explosions look sort of like they're happening in slow motion because the distances are just so vast.
