Introduction
Peter Adamson: Julian the Apostate was a Roman emperor who renounced Christianity for paganism. He says his philosophy went hand in hand with belief in the existence and power of the traditional gods. But as always in history things did not go differently, he died some time later. The emperor's death put an end to this short-lived experiment in pagan traditionalism.
