Financial scams are on the rise, and it's such an easy and free way to protect yourself from identity theft. You just have to call the bureaus back or get in touch with them online. Tell them to leave the freeze off for a week, however long it's going to take for that new lender to run your credit. And then it'll just settle right back on.
