The Importance of Women in American Church History
American women had much higher rates of female literacy than anywhere else in the world. Half of the academies by 1850 are four women. American women, to the extent that there's a significant investment in women's education in American history, I mean, this is one of the ways in which America truly is exceptional in the 19th century.
