Vanport Canoe Shuts
The albina district was wiped out about 50 years ago when the city of portland made a decision, in conjunction with the manual hospital to expand. There are just there many other instances where neighborhoods have been a wiped out. And one of the saddest components is these were displaced, lost their community, lost their livelihoods. A good portion of what was demolished still stands as an empty lot, undeveloped.
