The generational divide also plays out geographic divides. Given how economically uneven development drives young people from rural areas into to cities, which become highly unequal economic boom areas while rol areas decline. That's due to the evaporation of economic opportunity in rural places, and to a significant degree, also economic successorship in many rural places by immigrants.
