Learning How to Be a Great Student

Fashion design class teaches students how to do the slow looking, release them into the museum. Then they go back and design a garment inspired by the piece of art in the collection. We've done some work with our English language learners with this same technique. It helps us understand how they appreciate a piece of art with their own cultural interpretations. That doesn't mean to them differently than what it might mean to some of us domestically.
