The Importance of Problem Solving in Primary Mathematics
I've seen certain schemes that try and put a little bit of problem solving in every lesson. What are your thoughts on that kind of structure for problem solving? I mean, are there strengths to it? Are there weaknesses to it? Would you tell people it's a terrible idea or what would you reckon? It's funny you say previously would have been a plenary because for me problem solving should be at the heart of what we do. But where we see the hour after brick as the unit of measurement for the class or for the lesson or for the learning, that's how you end up in that situation if you're shoe honing things.
