CHAPTER

Coughlin's Radio League of the Little Flower

In 1932, Father Coughlin endorsed Franklin Delano Roosevelt at the DNC. He wanted FDR to fix the depression by minting gold and silver coins in order to create inflation which would reduce debt and unemployment. In 1934, the Treasury Department announced that Coughlin's secretary owned 500,000 ounces of silver. The purchase of all this silver had been paid for in part by donations to the Radio League of the Little Flower. Now CBS went up kicking Father Couglin off the air after his jubating got a little bit too hardcore.
