You mention that you think of entananglement as clearly quantum. Can you explain a little bit more about why that is, and therefore, why, intrinsically, quantum phenomena are not even more ubiquitous in biology? It's all too easy to entangle particles. Particles very easily entangled with stray particles,. especially if the temperature is high, things are jiggling around a whole lot.
