The Impact of Public Broadcasting in Australia
Public broadcasters are often the first to come under pressure with falling funding, reduced staff levels and increased technological requirements. A good public broadcaster will be providing strong news and current affairs couvrage right across the country. In recent years we used to have a nightly current affairs programe on a main t v channel that was delivered discreetly out of each capital city around the country. We now have one national programm that's symptomatic of the impact that is had on current affairs. Drama documentaries are ow. International services have been cut back hugely.
