Open source has been around for 30 years, but some say it's only just getting to the point of being a useful tool. In an interview with John McCaffery, he says there is still much work to be done on open source software. He also argues that many developers are trying to get back to simpler days when they could write their own code and not have to rely on others' efforts.
Eiso and Jason step up to the mic to make their wild guess on how the state of software engineering will evolve, given what we know now.
The tech industry will look a lot different in 20 and 30 years. From autonomous coding to self-driving cars to automatically powered engineering leadership. We might not be ready for that yet, but our kids are gonna love it!
