The Old Testament Author of Kings Reflects on the Narrative of the Birth of Isaac
In 2 Kings 4, Elijah wants to do something for this Shunamite woman. She is barren and she has no son and her husband is old. So it's as though the author of Kings is going out of his way to say, hey, you guys remember Abraham and Sarah? And then Elijah announces about this time next year, you shall embrace a son.
