The History of the Virginia Cadets

Cadets were banned from buying, storing or drinking alcohol on campus. They couldn't participate in duels that's big in Virginia. Jefferson Davis was already known as a heavy drinker. Thayer refused to bend the rules even for the annual tradition of drinking alcoholic eggnog during the Christmas holiday.
