Is Privacy Important in Your View?

i'm curious what you think about the topic, the concern of privacy these days. Is privacy important in your view? Have people or people approaching it in the wrong way? You have obviously a lot of insight on this, so i'd love to hear it. It's interesting to me why certain factions require this breach of privacy and want to know who we are, what we are doing at all times. To me, that comes down to some sort of fear, ultimately in a need for control, o a certain paranoia.
