Women in the Haudenosaunee Confederacy

For all that we know, it's only ever been that way. There are actually some really interesting examples in pockets around the world where you see more complementarity or women and men being valued. Even in those pocketed examples, it's like women are maybe viewed as separate but equal. But they're still no matriarchical society.
