The Importance of Electrum Servers in Bitcoin Core
If you are using Bitcoin core directly in order for that your computer to be able to know how many coins you have it has to keep your public keys in plain text. That might also be a privacy and security concern if somebody gets access to your network because at that point they could try to figure out what's on Catan's box. Spero wallet team essentially is making this idea that you should preferentially use an electrum server instead of importing your wallet into Bitcoin core.
