The Effects of Double-Lumen Tubes on Airway Injuries

The most significant result was that for right-sided cases, the easy blocker was less stable overall with increased rates of repositioning relative to a left-sided double-lumen tube. This presumably is due to the more proximal take-off of the right-upper-low relative to the chryna and the potential inability of the balloon to completely occlude the right- Upper low-take-off. Nick: There's actually a very good study published in Anesthesiology by Marissa et al. in 2013 comparing the incidence of airway injuries due to the double- lumen tube versus the easy blocker group.
