What's the Difference Between Private Equity and Structured Finance?
There was a story from russia, i understand, involving two men called peter. They were trying to do a structured finance deal, rather than a private equity deal. The issue for us was, would the oil actually come out of russia, or were we just giving the russians money and never going to see again? So we told him we didn't want to do the deal. And his response was a little bit more aggressive than youd tend to find in western business. A gun to your head, quite literally, pointed across the room,. Quite literaly was actuay machine guns, but it wasn't very nice.
