The story went nowhere, but it did so out of fascinating pace. There were no metaphors or useless descriptions in the pinata story. The balloons Addy and her grandmother inflated to form pinata-based shapes were just that balloons. When the shells had hardened and holes for pouring candy work cut out, the balloons inside the pinata popped with the intensity of gunshots.
