Why the Word Tough?
Why do we have the word terrible here? Why not glorious? We could fill that space with glorious. But robert hayden chose terrible. He probably meant to say, terrific, an auto correct took over. If they're not purely good, in what ways aren't they? What makes them terrible? So leaving aside my son's theory, which i don't think is viable, i think there are two possible explanations. I don't think hayden himself ever talked about this. If he did, if he, or any one else has ever explained this fully, please let me know.
