What Are the Social Structures in a High School?

"We were all smart n we wereal nerves, caus some of us were defernitly dirtier than others," she says. "I think there was a lot of kids who were not so cool in their middle schools but then came to that high school and kind of moved to the top its like how cool you are depends on your pond." She also talks about her sense of self-worth as an emigrant kid - even though she wasn't conscious of it at the time.
