i have a good circle of half a dozen friends around the world, most of whom i spend time either in the mountains or talking over and philosophical are both matters. I often think that you have as many conversations with the person you have lost, who was close to you, after they have gone, as you had before they passed away. And this is one of the remarkable things about true friendship, that it does transcend disappearance. It transcends mortality and death. So there's this amazing, invisible and very physical sense of inheritance from a heartfelt and powerful friendship.
