In the first century BC, Rome establishes a half Jewish sort of Gentile foreign leadership family to rule on behalf of a proxy ruler. This is the Herod family and the Jewish people are not crazy about this arrangement at all. And it's also a weird convoluted mess back in Rome as we get into the middle of the first centuryBC that is 50 years before the time of Jesus.
