Augustine's hermeneutics is perhaps the single most important of all topics when it comes to sacred literature. Augustine could get the Bible to say whatever he needed it to. Theodicy has not generated other solutions to theodicy than these four: Satan, mysterious ways, we brought it on ourselves and evil is absence of good.
