Augustine's Confessions Are Not in God's Good Ways
The Confessions is a very unique work but also a very vulnerable and open work that includes a lot of I don't know what we might think it was like too much information especially from a bishop. He says the works of his confessions are to praise God in his good and bad ways and to move the hearts and affections of men, the mind sorry the minds and the hearts of God. And so he invites people to join him in contemplating his own life and how he's seen God at work in his life. But Augustine doesn't just pose the questions as if well it's just enough to start the conversation. There is no account of ourselves apart from seeking praise of God right.
