The clinical trials tracked symptoms pretty carefully relatively speaking at least in the U.S. for the first 15 days following each injection and then after that many of the conditions were lumped together on what they called new medical conditions rather than adverse events. It appears that the new medical conditions weren't necessarily as vigorously investigated as the more traditional adverse event that happened you know in injection site reaction. The HPV vaccine is actually a like a painful injection like the injection site can be very very sore.
