The Importance of Piety
Yuthafro is a shocking figure. At least he should be shocking to us. He's willing to prosecute his own father for murder on the grounds that his father didn't adequately treat a guy who was in his employ, got drunk and killed someone else. What Socrates points out is that if you're confident enough in your own sense of what's pious and impious then you'd better well know what piety is.
