The Role of Imaging in Lower GI Bleeding
A CTA is the right way to go and interventional radiology for severe lower GI bleeding. But in this case, if an endoscopist is telling you to get a CTA for this presentation, I would push back on it. The blood supply to the foregut is sufficiently redundant to make an embolization procedure less confidence inspiring.
