If you go to your boss and say, you are bad at your job. Let me teach you how to be better, you're not going to keep that job very long. You got just do the stuff well, also, building up the rare and valuable skills as can earn you out of it. Adam grant uses the term idiosecrecy credits to talk about this. The better you get at things, the more id soncratic you earn the right to be in your work or in your work habits. But until you earn that right, you basically have to be responsible, get things done.
