The Pain of Narcissism

In the recent Academy Award winning movie Inside Out, the main character was referred to by her parents as our happy little girl. Can you hear the gaslighting in it? I mean, literally you're watching a scenario in a cartoon that happens in virtually every American home. And again, like I wrote in my original post this evening, I think a lot more than most of us would like to admit. When we are valued for things such as our talents, our intelligence, our obedience, or our happiness, essentially we are not seen by others. Don't worry about diagnosing yourself as a narcissist. Just know that you have some of this wounding.
