If you are determined to figure something out, or to go change something or fix it, take an afternoon and you can prototype something. You don't have to ask for permission to fix your sea icety pipe line. If you get mad enough, you cano do it in a couple of days. Just having that ability to cut a scrip something up for yourself, oughtomate something like it makes your job like, radically better, radically different. And people look at you in a different way.
Charity Majors, co-founder, and CTO of honeycomb.io, joins us to talk about everything that's wrong with engineering cycles, how throwing money at the problem by hiring more people is making it worse, and what we can do about it.
Find out:
- How to create systems that increase software engineering productivity,
- Which toolsets can enable shorter feedback loops,
- How elite teams have figured it out,
- How infrastructure engineering is key to all of this and more!
