The book is built on a text that I've been thinking deeply for probably years: Psalm 78. It's looking at David, and the text says here's what he did in Israel to shepherd Jacobus according to his own inheritance. But if we really miss the main framing ofPsalms 78 through 72,I think many pastors will lose their way. We were never meant to lead love and serve alone. And yet one of the paradoxes, especially as a larger context, and I'm not an emerald of larger places, you can be messed up in a small place too.
