Is That Really What You're Seeing?
Shame is actually toxic to the developing frontal lobe. It's a crisis event where corticosteroids go so high they begin to kill brain tissue in the frontal lobe. If it's repaired, there are other chemical agents that come in that sort of stop that decay. You actually have better, cleaner connections between the part of your brain that can think things through and has a moral sense than if that hadn't happened.
