rochester's life and career, again, can be seen as the most extreme person cation. The restoration period also had its own paradox, you know, like the puritan paradox. It was this great flowering of art and aesthetics and pleasure at the same time that it continued the growing pattern of poverty and dispossession for much of the populace.
