The Tower Building
Bradford Gilbert came up with the idea to build a skyscraper in New York City. The walls would be 9 inches thick and there would be 20 foot wide office spaces. Stearns loved it for a while until people started telling him it was completely bananas. He refused to change his plans so that if the building blew down, he would have the farthest to fall.
