German Philosophy: Schopenhauer and Nietzsche

Schopenhauer and Nietzsche
Arthur Schopenhauer was born in Danzig today called Gudonksk on the northern Baltic coast of Poland. At 15 years old, he went along with his parents on a trip around Europe during the beginning of the Napoleonic Wars. His father committed suicide by throwing himself off of the roof of their house into an adjacent canal where they found his body. After his father's death, him and his mother were increasingly at loggerheads with one another, which ultimately culminated in them parting ways as Arthur entered adulthood. By looking inwardly, Sch Openhauer made a relatively new and exciting move in the history of western philosophy.
