Why This Universe?

CHAPTER

The Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics

Copenhagen's interpretation of quantum mechanics leads to a universe that is not deterministic, but just random. Some philosophers have argued indeterminism rather than determinism is incompatible with real free will existing. So I don't think you get free will from an Everettian view of quantum mechanics. You can calculate exactly what the state of the quantum multiverse will be like in the future or what it was like in the past. It just evolves in a completely predictable, calculable way.
