I think a lot of it is like, you know, the African American vernacular has become really big on TikTok and on the internet in general. And I was thinking of that with Black China and specifically her desire to go by her given name now, which is Angela White,. She says that Black China is the brand, but Angela White's the human behind it. It sets up Angela White's become a brand, but an anti-brand brand. This goes back to my point that I talk about how algorithms and the internet has kind of destroyed subcultures or sort of anything that's like niche and cool or underground makes it mainstream.
