The Importance of Having a Tool to Express Your Will
I've thought about it as in terms of like a ratcheting effect, which I observe to be quite important in other kind of evolutionary contexts. If you don't- if something prevents you from sliding back, then you can kind of only go forward if that makes sense. And so once the tool becomes that kind of transparent or ready to hand, in this sense that you can just kind of express your will through it without being aware of the tool per se, then, you know, it kind of changes your relationship to the content.
