The Debilitating Experience of the Higgins Boats
Higgins boats are flat bottom boats which are not particularly seaworthy I mean they're stunt nose barges and you can guarantee that the troops are going to be seasick. Many of the veterans testify that they had trouble even moving because they were so cramped on their knees in the wet and the cold and spray. The amphibious assault is like immersion in a cold shower the ramp comes down and then in the middle of the battle well there's no way back from it.
