Paul Volcker's Tenure at the Federal Reserve

Paul Volcker sponsored the policies that led to the highest interest rates in US history. He started those policies in 1979 shortly after he came into the Federal Reserve. In 1982, Ronald Reagan's advisors told him to get tough with the Fed and blame the Fed for unemployment rate getting up to 10%. And Volcker told me that Reagan refused to do that. The 1980s were the start of the great bull market and stocks peaked out around the 1999-2000 dot-com bubble.
