Robin Hood: The Outlaw of the Middle Ages

Robin Hood was an outlaw who lived in Sherwood Forest, surrounded by a band of Mary Men. He stole from the rich and gave to the poor - but he wasn't above killing someone if they got in his way. Outlaws were people who had been banished from society; that usually meant they headed to the forest. The word outlaw literally means someone who lives outside of the law.
