Superbike motorsports was opened by Scott Ponder in 1993. It sold motorbikes, ATVs and go-karts to outdoor enthusiasts. In its first year, the store made more than $1 million in sales. The dealership's customer base was examined, but no one stood out as suspicious. There were also rumours that the killer could have been a disgruntled customer. Some suspected that Chris Sherbet had been scheduled to front court several days later on Monday, November 10. But this theory failed to gain momentum.
