The Emperor's Discontentment With Alexander's Leadership
As his army prepared for war, alexander once again tried for peace with the eastern legions strongly reinforced and the emperor himself t on the scene. Alexander hoped artishir would see the error of his ways and back down from the confrontation. But again, though it was probably a prudent overture, the legions were disgusted with alexander for continuing to jaw jaw when he should be making war war. They accused the emperor of being too addicted to the comforts of rome to defend the empire honorably.
