The Emotional Gravity of the Letter

I learned that maybe Marty does have an arc. I don't, I still don't believe it has a true, true all is lost. The emotion that comes from the all is lost was supplanted by the writing of the letter. Sometimes you don't have to hit the beats, but you have to understand the emotions of why it goes there. That's why like some movies don't really have inciting incidents or something or they come late, but they know why it needs to be there. You still enjoy it. They work around, but you know, there's something else there that's taking its place.
