The more frequently the word recession appears in print, the more likely it is that a recession actually happened. The fact that people are saying the r word more frequently can kind of become this self-fulfilling prophecy. But for me, personally, i don'ti fully believe that the r word index is as strong of an indicator as it could be simply because of his self fulfilling prophetic nature of the rword.
