Bond Ratings - Is This a Safe Bond?

When it comes to governments, we're talking about how australia's bonds are quite highly rated. So what does the rating actually tell us is at how likely that government is going to be able to repay its bond or something? The ratings are done by a like private companies, some as a some big private companies around the world. They will just sort of put recent data, and itill includei a range of things like g d p and unemployment and a a budge of surplus and range of data. And then they'll plug all that into their model, and then they'll get a rating out of it....
